What is the test for reasonableness of an Arbitrator’s Award?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from University of Manitoba Faculty Association, 2019 MBQB 35 (CanLII):

In determining whether the reasonableness standard has been met, it is incumbent on the court to examine the justification, transparency and intelligibility of the Arbitrator’s Award while at the same time paying “respectful attention” to the reasons given. As well, consideration must be given to the context, the record and the arguments presented. (Agraira v. Canada (Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness), 2013 SCC 36, [2013] 2 S.C.R. 559) The Arbitrator’s Decision
