Awarding costs is a discretionary exercise that is afforded significant deference. Leave to appeal a costs order is granted sparingly and only where there are strong grounds to believe that the lower court erred: Feinstein v. Freedman, 2014 ONCA 205, 119 O.R. (3d) 385, at para. 52.
