What is the test for an application to strike a claim because it fails to plead sufficient facts?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Westbank Society Seniors Housing Society v. Scuka Enterprises Ltd., 2013 BCSC 2360 (CanLII):

An application to strike a claim because it fails to plead sufficient facts must be considered generously in the claimant’s favour. The pleadings must be read broadly, and the claim should only be struck out if it cannot succeed: Holland v. Saskatchewan, 2008 SCC 42 at paras. 15, 16.
