Aggravated damages in wrongful dismissal cases are compensatory in nature. It is an implied term of an employment contract that an employer will act in good faith in the manner of dismissal: Beggs v. Westport Foods Ltd., 2011 BCCA 76, 14 B.C.L.R. (5th) 1 at para 48.
