Aggravated damages are a subset of non-pecuniary damages usually awarded in cases involving some harm that has fright, misery and humiliation associated with it: Iachetta v. Ioannone, 2005 BCSC 566, Vorvis v. Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, 1989 CanLII 93 (SCC), [1989] 1 S.C.R. 1085.
