Is a plaintiff entitled to compensation for loss of capacity to do housework?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Walks v Cody, 2019 BCSC 1371 (CanLII):

A plaintiff whose ability to perform housekeeping services is diminished in part or in whole is entitled to be compensated for that loss. As directed by the court of appeal in McTavish v. MacGillivray, 2000 BCCA 164 at para. 43, a reasonable award for the loss of the capacity to do housework is appropriate whether that loss occurred before or after trial and regardless of whether replacement services have been or will be hired.
