Can an adjournment be granted by the Court of Appeal?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v. Swearengen, 2003 CanLII 42184 (ON SC):

A court has a wide discretion to grant or to refuse an adjournment. An appeal court should not lightly interfere with a trial judge’s decision except where there has been an error of law. (see: Re Manhas and R. (1980) 1980 CanLII 172 (SCC), 1 S.C.R. 591 and Barrette v. R., (1977) 1976 CanLII 180 (SCC), 2 S.C.R. 121)
