By virtue of s. 8 of the Charter, citizens, including corporations, are protected against unreasonable search or seizure. A warrantless search is prima facie an unreasonable one. See Hunter v. Southam Inc., 1984 CanLII 33 (SCC), [1984] 2 S.C.R. 145.
