What factors are considered in determining whether a party is just and convenient in a case?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Wong v Spittal, 2018 BCSC 1795 (CanLII):

These factors, while important, are not exhaustive. No one factor is determinative. The decision is ultimately a discretionary one. The overriding consideration is whether adding the party is just and convenient in the circumstances: Amezcua at para. 63; Chouinard v. O’Connor, 2011 BCCA 161 at para. 21.
