What is the effect of s. 57 of the Statutory 57 declaration on division of assets of the BCCA?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from M.K.M. v. P.S.M., 2013 BCSC 579 (CanLII):

The alleged transfers occurred prior to separation, and prior to the s. 57 declaration. The question is whether division of assets without a compensation order would be unfair: Parminter v. Parminter, 2011 BCCA 347, at para. 37. Quite apart from what money may have been sent to India and by whom, I am not satisfied in the circumstances of this case that a compensation order is necessary to render the division of assets not unfair.
